Who we are

Brighter Future Pathways is an independent admissions adviser. We help people apply for HND and degree courses at UK universities and colleges, and for Student Finance. We are not a university or college and we do not award qualifications.

We are the data controller for the information you give us. If you want to contact us about your information, speak to the adviser handling your application and they will put you in touch with the right person.

What we collect

  • Your name, phone number and email address
  • Your age, immigration status and English language level
  • Whether you have studied at university before
  • The course and campus you are interested in
  • A photo or scan of an identity document, when you send us one
  • Notes our advisers make when they speak to you

Why we collect it

We use your details to check whether you are likely to qualify for a funded place, to book and confirm your assessment, and to submit your application to the university or college you choose. Your identity document is used to verify who you are as part of that application.

Our lawful basis is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running an admissions service. Identity documents are handled on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We share your application details with the university, college or admissions partner delivering the course you have chosen, so they can process your application. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Our website and database are hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Identity documents are stored in encrypted storage that is not publicly accessible and can only be opened by our own staff after signing in.

How long we keep it

We keep identity documents only as long as we need them to complete your application, and delete them within 6 months at the latest. We keep your contact and application details for up to 2 years so we can support you through your course, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to how we use it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Ask the adviser handling your application and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. We set a single cookie when a member of our staff signs in to the internal portal, purely to keep them signed in.
